Preston Apartments

Located in the heart of Christchurch, just a short walk from the iconic Latimer Square, this residential project features 27 modern apartments across four storeys. Each unit offers 2-3 bedrooms, an open-plan layout, and viewing balconies. The development spans a 1,347m² site, with 1,919m² dedicated to residential living spaces.

The project faced several challenges, including the procurement of steel from China, which arrived on-site as a ready-to-assemble package. This presented logistical difficulties during the assembly process.

To meet fire rating and acoustic code requirements, CSR Hebel flooring was utilised, necessitating extra remedial work to ensure compatibility with the flooring finishes. Site constraints also posed a challenge, but the neighboring site provided a laydown area, facilitating a more efficient build process.

Completed in 2018, the project successfully delivered contemporary, comfortable homes, meeting the client's expectations. The thoughtful design and strategic location provide residents with convenient access to city amenities while enjoying spacious and stylish living spaces. This project stands as a testament to effective planning and execution, contributing positively to Christchurch’s residential landscape.
