Elloughton Village & Care Home

Radius Healthcare aimed to expand their existing village in Timaru with the addition of 54 new villas and a 30-bed hospital extension. The project was built on a brownfield site but included a new roading structure and stormwater and services upgrade. Kensway represented the Client providing Project Management and Quantity Surveying services.

It was important to ensure the design resulted in a facility that was fit for purpose and user friendly for elderly residents. Some of the design work included modernised kitchen spaces, wide walkways and detailing amenities to get the maximum use out of each area to accommodate the needs of the residents.

Kensway walked Radius through the design process for each villa and planned construction with a staged methodology so that work could be undertaken with residents occupying part of the Village and Care Home.

Kensway managed this project from inception, covering feasibility, all design stages, consenting and contractor procurement. Cost management formed an important part of this project with budget attributes key to the project’s success.

We worked with the project team to achieve a fit for purpose, warm solution to housing residents.
